January 1st 2012 - A New Year. A New way to Scrapbook

Hello 2012! It's a new year. Time for new beginnings. A new way to scrapbook. And as much as I would love to say I'm not going to be buying anything in 2012,  I've learned that's like saying I want to loose weight and I'll never eat chocolate again. You can't. I can't. When you totally deprive yourself, you want it even more. And so it goes for me and scrapbooking. I can't quite cold turkey and not buy. I will have to buy something. But lately with the Silhouette things have changed.

I went to Joann's and looked around. Didn't buy a thing. No paper... have a ton. No stickers. Can make my own. Flowers. Can even make my own there to. Any color, and size and pretty much any shape with my "Cammie". My silhouette. Of yes. I love her! She is my BFF! We are just getting to know one another but I love all the things she can do! From the outside of cards, to the inside of cards, to gift boxes and more. And I'll ALWAYS have it. The stuff doesn't go away, or I'll never run out. Need a gazillion "e"s for a word. No problem for Cammie.

And now I've been starting to collect digital paper and embellishments. One - they take of less room. Two - I never run out of it. You ALWAYS have it on your computer. Three - it's all free! Free! I'm getting something and I'm not even paying for it! It's amazing how much digital stuff is free! I can see now how digital may have some advantages.

And what I'll need to do in get really proficient at the cut and print on Cammie so I can use all this digital stuff.
But I'll keep working at it and practicing on it and I'll get better. I can't expect perfection for the first time I sit down to do it. (Although sometimes I expect this from myself and that's not good.) So I'll go a little easier and  practice. I  have a wonderful teacher to help me through it and tech support from QuickKuts should I totally screw up my machine somehow.

So this new year... I'll be spending less. A lot less. And learning. And getting better. And what more could you ask for in a new year.
:)
